Matcha is a premium green tea powder from Japan. It is richer in flavour and has a more buttery flavour compared to green tea and is popular world-wide for its high anti-oxidant properties. Matcha is specially grown and processed green tea leaves from the camellia sinensis plant. It can be used for drinking or as an ingredient in recipes.

How to Use:

Use 1-2 teaspoons per cup of hot water (80 C) and whisk to enjoy or simply add to your smoothie or yoghurt.

To make a cafe style matcha latte place 1 tsp of matcha powder into a mug with 1 tbsp of boiling water and stir into a paste. Next heat your favourite milk or nut, oat or coconut mylk until steaming. Froth the milk as much as possible with a whisk or milk frother and pour into the matcha paste. If matcha is a bit too earthy for you but you want to enjoy the health benefits such as its high anti-oxidant properties then mix in a natural sweeterner such as maple, agave or honey when preparing the milk.
