1. Food colourant & fabric dye
Beetroot juice can be used to colour many dishes such as icing on a cake, or even soups. The more you add, the more intense the colour will be!
By using chopped beetroot, beetroot juice or beetroot powder, you can dye fabric naturally to produce a lovely light pink colour.
2. Beetroot powder
Beetroot powder has many uses too! The powder can be added to soups, curries or gravies to add some extra nutrition.
It’s also great when added into smoothies for an antioxidant boost.
3. Natural cosmetics
Beetroot can be used as a natural blush for the cheeks, when in powder form. Homemade and zero chemicals!
It can also be used as a simple hair dye. Mix the beetroot powder with some henna then apply the mixture to your locks. Leave the dye in for a few hours, or longer for a more intense colour.
4. Delicious to eat!
Beetroots can be enjoyed raw, cooked or pickled. Even their leaves can be cooked and eaten like spinach. It’s delicious when grated raw into salads, roasted in the oven or mixed into chocolate cakes!
