ZERO WASTE GOES MAINSTREAM!
Thanks to the global zero waste movement, TV shows such as War on Waste and consumers desperate for ways to reduce their harmful impact on the planet the term ‘zero waste’ is going mainstream!
A change is happening and shopping and living consciously is no longer just for ‘hippies’ but for everyday Aussie families.
We recently bought the worldwide zero waste leader, Bea Johnson from Zero Waste Home, to Australia to inspire change through our Australian (sold out) Zero Waste Speaking Tour.
We were thrilled to be asked by A Current Affair for an interview. The ‘waste busting’ segment aired last night on Channel 9.
The Source Bulk Foods is an Australian family business based near Byron Bay. We have over 40 stores in Australia as well as stores in New Zealand and London UK.
It is our mission to inspire change by education and by providing a low impact shopping alternative. Since we started in 2012 we have:
- Saved 300,000kg of packaging waste from going to landfill and
- Saved over 50 million plastic bags from circulation
This is just the beginning and we are excited to see a major shift happening in our communities.
